GET TO KNOW COOPER
Cooper McGill grew up in Augusta, Georgia, but now lives in Chicago, Illinois. He is a graduate of Coastal Carolina University with a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre. He was most recently in Chicago Kids Company’s productions of Peter Pan (Captain Hook), Alice in Wonderland (Tweedle Dee/Caterpillar/King of Hearts), and Mrs. Claus (Mr. Fusspot). In his career, his favorite roles have entailed Ziggy in a kids series, Camp Wannastay, Senator Fipp in Urinetown and Everett Baker in Crazy For You.
In college, he loved participating in Social Justice Theatre. He served as the stage manager for The Lighthouse Project, a piece about raising awareness of homelessness in the community, as well as Inclusive Theatre Club, a group of community members with differing abilities.
When he’s not onstage, he enjoys playing basketball, ultimate frisbee, and spikeball. He also fulfilled one of his lifetime, nontheatrical dreams the past four summers by working at Passportkids. The summer of 2024, he directed the team by overseeing the operations and program.
